About Dr. Michelle

Dr. Michelle O'Shaughnessy has been practicing in the Central Florida area for over 10 years.  She was the proud owner of the Aesthetic Acupuncture Clinic in Dr. Phillips and for the last 3 years she has worked at the Herb Shop in Kissimmee until February 12, 2016 when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cervical Cancer.  It was aggressive and inoperable.  Michelle's whole life changed.  She tried to fight it with alternative medicine like acupuncture, Chinese Herbs and going to the Hippocrates Institute down in West Palm.  All of them helped but at the end the cancer kept spreading. l She finally decided to start chemo and radiation and started suffering with all the side effects.  It wasn't until she added Chinese Medicine back along with figuring out how to release her negative emotions did she start to feel better.  She then sailed through the treats and she bounced back to health. Michelle understands how one feels going through this ordeal and all the physical side effects and emotional turmoil one experiences while going through this process, She understands the fear at the beginning,  The side effects in the middle middle and how worn out one is at the end.  She wants to help women to feel better physically, emotionally, spiritually and sexually.  It can affect so many different aspects of one's life.  Michelle wants her place to be a safe haven where women can come and ask for advise on issues that most doctors don't want to discuss like the vaginal dryness and and atrophy, or even the loss of sensuality one feels after being radiated.

Michelle graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine and after a few years she was invited back to join the faculty and teach "How to use Food as medicine".  She has written 4 books "Traditional Chinese Medicine an Esthetician's Guide" , "Nourish your skin and body with Traditional Chinese Medicine", " Chinese Medicine for healthy skin" and "50 shades of herbs".  She has been an Esthetician  for over 20 years and got the highest honor in the field by getting her C.I,D.E.S.C.O Certification.  She also owned and created Healing Herbal Soups which were different frozen soups to help heal and nourish the major organs of the body.  The principles that she used to create her soups was based on Chinese medicine and Western herbs.  She is passionate about using food as a way to heal and to keep the body healthy.
